Our Mission
Statement
To combat the rise of parental and
stranger kidnappings, the NMCLC was created in 1982. We are
dedicated to
locating MISSING, STOLEN, LOST, RUNAWAY, THROWAWAY, and EXPLOITED
CHILDREN and reuniting them with their legal guardian at
NO
COST TO THE FAMILY. This is
achieved
through long hours of investigations by people who believe in what
they
are doing. Their commitment to finding these unfortunate children
is to
be commended.
Nationally, Over 1
million
children are reported missing each year
Statistic from the
Office
of the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention.
This figure includes
Family Abductions, Non family Abductions, Runaways and
Throwaways.
Together with
legislative
efforts, NMCLC assists parents by familiarizing them with state
laws and
their rights as parents, and shows them what resources are
available to
them under the law. NMCLC gets directly involved with the actual
recovery of Abducted or Lost children after local police and FBI
have
been notified.
The NMCLC creates
public
awareness of child abduction and the need for greater protection
for our
children through participating in fairs, holding benefits, public
speaking, direct mailings, ID kits, safety videos, and through
newspaper
advertisements. In addition, the agency provides emotional support
and
practical assistance to any family of MISSING CHILDREN.
Our goal
at NMCLC is to disseminate, world-wide, as many
pictures of Missing Children as possible. Currently we disseminate
over
250,000 pictures a week, increasing
regularly.
Needless to say,
these
services are costly and funds are desperately needed. For the
protection
of your community and for the protection of children everywhere,
we must
act now. If not, we may lose total control of this growing problem
and
create an unsafe condition for our children that will render them
totally helpless.
